A Transformational Workshop in Ideation, Design, Making, and Presentation.
6 & 7 Feb 2019
EnCube Fablab, Gandhinagar
Self Efficacy, the confidence to face unknown challenges, is a key attribute for entrepreneurs but it also accelerates progress for students or professionals. It can be built through controlled interventions that expose students to an unknown subject matter, build resilience to learn from failures, and expand their zone of competence.
Ideas are at the core of innovation. Working in teams to create diverse ideas rapidly is a skill that anyone can learn and master. By realizing that unconventional thinking and ideas can be used to solve problems in unfamiliar subjects, students build confidence to take on tough, real-world challenges. The industry has shown, most disruptive ideas in any field are not created by experts, but newcomers.
DESIGN & FABRICATION
Every student learns design of mechanical parts, electronic systems, and software in this workshop. Through the design and printing of 3D parts, designing and programming microcontrollers, and fabricating an operating product in two days, the student builds resilience to failure. The student is constantly taken out of her comfort zone to learn new topics.
The ability to clearly present one’s ideas is key to progressing in academics or work. Every student will learn to pitch their ideas in public. They will learn to make short movies to convey complex ideas, create presentations slides and present in front of mentors and experts
